The task was to develop a design concept and prototype for an interactive mobile system, application or service, along the lines of “Sustainable Food Choices for Students”. This project began in groups, where we identified a potential solution to the problem of improving the sustainability of student’s diets. The chosen approach was an app which let users compare their food choices with eco-friendly alternatives. Further development of this concept was then conducted individually, which lead to the creation of a website prototype designed for mobile screens. The application is for an affordable meal kit delivery service that sources ingredients from local suppliers. Conducting user research and reviewing secondary sources of information to make informed design decisions lead to the creation of a user-friendly website called ‘FoodSense’.
